Michaela was the name of my server. Yes, the food was truly delicious. But, the service was even better. The meal would not have been as good without the warm and welcoming way I was treated by Michaela. I imagine she soon will be the manager, training the staff to adopt implement her style and charm.
So, we went for breakfast on Father’s Day and the transition was exceptionally smooth. We dined in and the staff was highly organized, and the restaurant was clean. We waited for a little while before our food came, I am not a complainer, so I did not mind at all. However, Bill, our server kept checking on us, the manager came to speak with us, and they made the wait seem like 5 minutes. Very professional. When the check came, they took care of it. ALL OF IT! That never happens. We will be returning. Good customer service is hard to find. Great food as well. The best. I had the coconut stuffed French toast. I highly recommend it.
Went here for the first time this afternoon for brunch. Had a fantastic experience. All of the staff was cheery and delightful. The service was great. The menu is full of options. I got the mixed berry sampler waffles (4 minis) and they were excellent. Too often do breakfast spots offer "fancy waffles/pancakes" for $10+ & they come up very short. This was absolutely not the case at Mrs. Shirley's. They were unique & flavorful. Hashbrowns & bacon were phenomenal too.I would definitely recommend this spot! Can't wait to return!
The best breakfast place ever!! The food is always good ..they have traditional breakfast foods and then they have original breakfast foods that you won't find too many places if any ..prices are on the higher end of breakfast ..so anywhere from about $12-$20 but the portions and quality of food is equal to what u are paying. They are a breakfast/brunch place so only open til 3 ..I've never had anything but breakfast so can't comment the brunch/lunch foods but can assume they are amazing as well!
Delicious! It’s well worth the wait. Definitely check them out. The chicken and waffles are to die for. I took my husband there for his birthday brunch and they treated him like he was special and that was very much appreciated. The staff went above and beyond.
Really good Food!A lil pricey
This place feels like home. Like my dads homemade comfort food with an elegant twist. You can taste that the food is made with love. It truly lives up to the hype that Baltimore makes for Miss Shirley's. And the staff is amazing! Our waitress, i believe named Amy, was incredible! 💛💛💛
Customer Service Great, Food was Great, The serving size on the Grits was to Small, but the taste was Amazingly! They offer Vegan Options! The Chirizo could be Spicer, nonetheless it was Good. They have many options to pick from. I will be going back.
The food was delicious but my only complaint was my family and I had to wait a little long for our food but our server was good
The cafe is cozy but also large enough to accommodate groups. I had brunch with some friends and we really enjoyed their offerings. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles. The cheddar waffles were a unique twist in this classic southern dish.
We do not make it to Miss Shirleys as often as we would like, but every visit is met with cheerful, efficient staff and outstanding food. This visit only had about a 10 minute wait for a table. Our server, Hannah came right over, sharing the specials. Our drinks and food were in front of us in less than 10 minutes from the time we placed the order, hot and delicious!
Great service and a great meal! Had the new bbq cornbread waffle stack and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken corn chowder and hot tots were also fantastic. The sweet tea is incomparable. Get there early to avoid a well-deserved wait!
Food was very good. The EVERYTHING BUT THE BAGEL biscuits with the herb cream cheese and fresh jam are to die for. SHRIMP AND GRITS -very good with the fried green tomatoes really gave it a burst of flavor. FRIED CHICKEN, BISCUITS & GRAVY- The smothered biscuits on top were very good and seasoned well. Only issue is the fried chicken came inside the omelet, I would have preferred the fried chicken on top of the egg so the crispy skin did not become soft. STREET CORN DEVILED EGGS we did not like it was to much going on and somehow had no flavor.
Their breakfast is worth the hype. Despite the COVID pandemic we were served quickly and the staff were very friendly. Our food was delicious and the order was accurate. Outside dining is available currently. Would highly recommend this restaurant as a good brunch spot
I've been to Miss Shirley's many times but it had been several years since my last visit. I was not disappointed. You need to be prepared for enormous servings but everything is delicious and the service was great. I did go mid morning on a week day so it wasn't packed but I've been many times earlier or on weekends where you need to be ready to wait for that tasty goodness.
I ordered online, everything was fine. When I got home and opened the bag, there was no drink in there even though my order said that there should’ve been a drink. The crab soup tasted too sweet. And I didn’t expect the Belgian waffles to be really small. Other than that, the rest of our order was great!
Great service and safe distancing . 2 thumbs up on food
Loved the food, service and the atmosphere! I will definitely be returning to Ms. Shirley's!
A tasty variety of different sections on the menu, a neat little eat-in venue Great ambiance One of Baltimore’s top cafes. Street parking is limited but totally worth it to visit. Drop in. Your palate will thank you.
I love this place. My team has reservations for tomorrow. I had, for the first time, cream of crab soup and I loved it. Looking forward to my visit. Pictures to come. Miss Shirley's have definitely become a favorite place to visit for me. Sometimes the weight can be a bit long but it is worth it. They do rotate some of their menu items which is awesome for those who love trying new things. Our servers are always Pleasant and attentive to our needs. Even though people complain about the wait in my personal opinion it's a great thing when you have customers waiting for your service. I've never heard anyone complain about the food quality.
The service was quick even though I did carry out. I didn't have to wait long. And the guy that delivered the food to my car was very nice and professional.
Miss Shirley's Cafe, Roland Park was delightful and the food was delicious. Service was good too. If you're in the area make it your business to eat there. My aunt and I were in the area visiting a family member in graduate school at Morgan State University. Great experience and memorable southern cooking at its best.
Service great. Food over hyped but good enough
The outdoor dining area was spacious and shady although the sun was outThe food was delicious and the waitress was courteous
It's a fine place with good food which used to come in such amounts that I doubt more than 50% of diners could actually clean their plates. After being open for 10+ years, a bit of the bloom is off the rose. Quality still seems to be there, service is excellent and ingredients still seem high-quality. Crowds are smaller as we were able to get a table without waiting. I like the imaginative menu which tends to make breakfast into culinary art. Miss Shirley's is now a Baltimore institution, a very supportable one.
Drove in from PA for my partners bday only to be told no indoor seating even though dine in is shown on webpage. Get it together and keep your social media current. Will not be back.
Fathers Day breakfast and the food is as delicious as ever! It was a nice first restaurant visit during COVID-19 Phase II Reopening. We text them for a reservation (be ready, ours was available in 20min). The tables are empty, cleared of all condiments, napkins and menus. Every other seating designated Social Distancing empty. It was a little surreal and more quiet than usual but the service was great and we enjoyed ourselves.
I loved the service the food and the over all experience. The prices were descent and I truly enjoyed myself!
My first time at Miss Shirley's Cafe in Roland Park and I have to say that my server was awesome. His name is Andrew. He was very polite. Also I got to hand it to the hostess as well. Thanks for a great experience and I will be coming here again.
We have been eating here for years and we love it! Food and service are both incredible! A little pricey, but SO worth it. Delicious and inventive cocktails, as well. I highly recommend Miss Shirley's. Money well spent! Ask about the monthly specials, which ate always over-the-top and fun to hear.
We have been coming to Miss Shirleys ever since our days at JHU, and this visit was no different. Our waitress Kayla A kept our drinks filled and there was a minimal wait for food. They also do a great job at following social distancing guidelines, mandating masks, and ensuring everyone is safe. Get the chicken and waffles, they are awesome!
The staff here are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The food is very good, despite being rather expensive. On top of this, they are a peanut- free kitchen, which has been a blessing to my family as my sister is allergic. Would recommend for anyone who is willing to spend a bit more on a nice breakfast, brunch, or even an unorthodox lunch!
Meals and service are great. Food is consistent over multiple visits and.across the different locations. Larger portion sizes. Only drawback is the wait. The fried green tomatoes with crab are delicious.
I ordered the pancakes and my friend the limited edition key lime French toast. Everything was so good. I’m definitely going back soon.
Just found this place through a friend a month ago and already been twice. I have gotten the pancakes and they taste as if they are from scratch. The customer service is really good and the ambience is really relaxing and you received quality food for your money
Do not order the shrimp salad! For $19(!!) I got >2 ounces of defrosted diced shrimp on an inedibly stale bun, with wilted lettuce and 3 soggy broken potato chips on top. A ripoff at 1/4 of the price. Never again. If you are looking for picnic/carryout Eddies, Hopkins Deli and the Giant are all within a few blocks and much better options.
5 stars isn’t enough to give this wonderful place. Miss Shirley’s is by far the best place I have ever eaten at. As pricey as it can be, it’s worth every bite you take. Definitely try the carrot cake stuffed French toast and the coconut cream stuffed French toast!!! It’s pure love
We celebrated my husband’s birthday, instead of with a traditional dinner out, with brunch out this year! We thought we’d sit outside when we arrived and were a little surprised to be ushered inside (pandemic & all) but we had what amounted to a private room. Brian & the rest of the staff were welcoming, masked, and thoughtful about protocols (menus were read on our own phones) And the food...well, it was delicious! The chicken & waffles, a family favorite, was fantastic, and I could live on the wonderful, creamy grits! My husband & I, and our 3 teens, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and we all needed post-brunch naps! Sorry we waited so long to visit Miss Shirley’s, but we’ll definitely be back!
For a stellar breakfast, brunch or lunch. Very healthy or a delicious treat, Miss Shirley's is the place. Award winning and yet still feels like a home away from home. Popular yes. Go early or late or wait. Anyway you will love your time at the amazing Miss Shirley's. I knew Shirley in high school and so pleased to honor her every time Ito Miss Shirley's
Simple early lunch with an old friend on a very cold Friday morning. Tried a new dish for me and the meal was delicious. Our server, Gabby, was warm and friendly and most concerned about our dining experience.
Beautiful atmosphere, comfortable, and great food and drinks! Our server was hospitable and charming. A colleague and I went for 9:30AM breakfast on a Sunday and there was no wait. There is parking along the road and additional spaces in the back. Such a great and accommodating place that we lost track of time and stayed until 4pm... Worth every penny. I will definitely be coming back
I had heard such great things about this place and was pretty disappointed. I’m not sure if it was just an off day for the waiter and cooks, but the food came to me cold and wasn’t that tasty. I asked for a water the first time the waiter came around and literally did not get it until after I finished my meal. The side that came with my order didn’t come until halfway through my meal. The same happened to the person I was eating with. I got the fried chicken omelette, as was recommended by the waiter. The biscuit and gravy is a different flavor than normal but not bad. Overall an OK experience. I would not recommend and I would not come again.
This is probably the best place I been to for southern style chicken. I would come back just for this again. Drinks were great as well. especially their bloody Mary. amazing. The interior is very uplifting. waits can be long but it was worth it. Trust me and get their chicken.
Great food. I was traveling and I stopped their for a Take out bite.
Emma was our waitress and she was fantastic! It was our first time there and she made fantastic recommendations and answered all of our questions with detail. She was very pleasant and made our experience fantastic. The food was amazing. We shared the fried green tomatoes and chicken and waffles.... They were amazing. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Baltimore! You are missing out if you don't check it out!! Thank you Emma for being great and making our experience awesome!!
Cute little spot... food was great... drinks had a surprising kick to them. Good portions an affordable food. Great brunch spot
Visited from Pittsburgh and if I ever come back to Baltimore, I would definitely come back again.
Good and service were great. #covid precautions were AWESOME!!!!
Loved the restaurant. They had little magic boards, crayons and kids menus with games and coloring page for the kids. The kids meals came in a tray with different compartments for each food and my kids loved it. I had the avocado toast which was delicious but it is prepared cold and not possible to eat like a sandwich by hand. You would have to use a fork and a knife on that one. Their side Mac n cheese is also made cold, some people like that, it's just not my style. We also had the devilled eggs, they were deep fried which was interesting. In general the food the is very delicious but very heavy, it's easy to overeat. We liked the experience.
The time for seating was great! The food was impeccable! My server Brian exhibited excellent customer service!
